IK_HQCentre for Cooperation Poland-China Confucius Institute is a non-profit public utility institution whose mission is promoting Chinese language and culture. The Institute is working for the benefit of this University and our local community. The Opole Centre is one of the 200 such offices in the world associated in an international web, whose principal office Hanban (Office of Chinese Language Council International) is situated in Beijing. The headquarters of Confucius Institute is in Beijing, China and is under leadership of the Office of Chinese Language Council International (known as “Hanban” for short), which is composed of members from 12 Chinese state ministries and commissions. Hanban, a non-governmental and non-profit organisation affiliated to the Ministry of Education of China and is committed to making the Chinese language and culture teaching resources and services available to the world, to meeting the demands of overseas Chinese learners to the utmost.

Beijing University of technology

Beijing University of Technology was established in 1960. It is one of the most important universities in China,Beijing_tech
and is administered by the Beijing Municipal Government. The University has created a multidisciplinary academic structure and today it offers various study courses. Furthermore, the University is involved in various research programs in the fields of Science, Engineering, Economics, Management, Liberal Arts, and Law. Beijing University of Technology is considered to be among the top 3% of the universities in China. The campus of the University covers an area of about 80 hectares with 4,940,000 square meters of floor space. There are more than 16,000 students enrolled in Beijing University of Technology (12,000 undergraduate students, 2,000 master’s degree students, 300 are doctoral degree students and 200 are international students)

 

KonfucjuszConfucius (551 BC – 479 BC) was a famous Chinese thinker, educator and philosopher, whose teaching and philosophy exerted deep influence on Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese ideas, and their ways of life. The keystone of Confucius’ thoughts is thus: justice, sincerity, morality and correctness in social relationships. Calling Institute with the name of Confucius reveals profoundness and longevity of Chinese thought, culture and language.

 

 

Confucius Institute Opole is aimed at the creation and broadening of academic, economic and cultural bonds between Poland and China, whereas we are striving towards our best efforts to launch a completion towards mutual understanding between cultures.

Our activity involves:

  • organizing courses and conservatories of Chinese language on various levels of advancement
  • preparation of teachers for Polish schools offering Chinese language
  • providing modern training materials for learning of Chinese language
  • conducting language examinations accredited by Hanban
  • organizing lectures and seminars on Chinese culture, society, and business
  • establishing cooperation with research centres
  • consulting services for education, culture, and business entities
  • organizing cultural and educational events

 

Modern lecture and meeting rooms, offices, a reading room, and staff rooms comprise a surface area of about 500 m2. Our well equipped reading room has a collection of Chinese literature, press and multimedia materials at students’ and teachers’ disposal, specifically for Chinese language learning. These attributes make the Institute not only a place for studying, but also a place for meeting with traditional customs of the Middle Kingdom, as well as with China’s current face. Our invitation is for anyone to participate in seminars, conferences and events organized by Confucius Institute Opole. We hope that visitors, attendants, and students as well, will enjoy the location of the Institute in a quiet part of the town and will spend their time in a inspired Chinese atmosphere.
