On Saturday, October 20, 2018, in the Hall of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the Opole University of Technology, we celebrated the International Day of the Confucius Institute.
Among many attractions were performances by artists who have shown great commitment. Particularly noteworthy is the Chinese version of the song “Panie Janie” performed by students of Public Primary School No. 14. Unusual abilities were also revealed by the winners of the competition “My Chinese talent 2018” – Hanna Cichocka, who presented “Peacock Dance” and Eliza Jończyk and her interpretation of the song ” Spring in the Alley “.
The Tai-chi show, next to calligraphy, was another element of the evening with culture of the Middle Kingdom. “Relaxing and working with breath is the most important thing. Practicing Tai – chi is about improving the integration of body and mind, “explains Menglin Zhao, one of the teachers of art of relaxation and meditation. In contrast, calligraphy is done in a similar way to painting – on paper, using a brush and black ink. On the stage, students from the Opole University of Technology – Liwia Michalska and Martin Brol showed their skills in this area, along with the teacher -Li Mentong
The culmination of the evening was a concert of Chinese classical music performed by Maria Ołdak (violin) and Dominik Zabłocki (piano). The performance was a unique invitation to a distant, musical world in which the sounds of Chinese melodies intertwined with curiosities about the very creation of songs.
The official part of the ceremony ended with symbolic cake, cut by representatives of the Polish and Chinese side, which heralds long and fruitful cooperation. Because “the appetite grows with eating”.
